Different names have different natural properties. Generally, high-strength bolts can bear greater loads than ordinary bolts of the same specification.
The material of ordinary bolts is Q235 (i.e. A3).
The materials of high-strength bolts are 45 # steel, alloy steel (such as 20MnTiB, 35VB) or other high-quality materials, which are heat treated after fabrication to improve the strength.
The difference between the two is the strength of the material.
First point: from the perspective of raw materials:
High strength bolts are made of high-strength materials. The screws, nuts and washers of high-strength bolts are made of high-strength steel, commonly used as No. 45 steel, 40 boron steel and 20 manganese titanium boron steel. Ordinary bolts are usually made of Q235 steel.
Second point: from the strength level:
Two strength grades, 8.8 and 10.9, are commonly used, most of which are 10.9. The strength grade of ordinary bolts shall be low, generally 4.4, 4.8 and 5.6. (8.8S and 10.9S are special for steel structures)
